A SOLDIER'S LOVE begins in the fall of 1941 just prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor and America's entry into the second world war.
Ron Miller, an army officer on reserve duty while attending graduate school at the University of Maryland, is nursing a broken heart and leery of falling in love again. Katie McNeill harbors a crush on Ron but is bewildered by his apparent lack of interest in her.
She becomes involved with a young student named Jimmy Garrett, a spoiled young man who wants more from Katie than she's willing to give.
On Sunday, December 7, upon learning that Pearl Harbor has been attacked by the Japanese, Ron and Katie finally confess and consummate their love for one another. However, Jimmy returns, having joined the Marines and wants to marry Katie before he goes away to war.
